SSU neutralizes russian intelligence network headed by Mykolaiv official: traitor detained during meeting at mayor’s office (video)

As a result of a special operation in Mykolaiv, the SSU Counterintelligence apprehended a russian agent, whose task was to set up a large agent network for russian special services.

The traitor is the head of the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Funeral Service. The SSU special purpose unit detained the individual at the City Council.

The SSU established that the offender had passed to the enemy the personal data of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SSU, the National Police and the regional Prosecutor’s Office. He also passed to ruscists the lists of killed Ukrainian defenders.

In addition, the enemy accomplice collected intelligence on deployment and movement of Ukrainian troops in the region.

His other task was to ‘inform’ the aggressor on critical infrastructure facilities of Mykolaiv and other sensitive issues discussed during meetings at the City Council.

The official tried to involve two of his subordinates and two other residents, including a senior operative of a district police department, in intelligence and subversive activities.

All of them have pro-kremlin views, which has been repeatedly confirmed in personal conversations and ‘posts’ in social networks.

The SSU identified an employee of russian special services, who coordinated the agents from the territory of temporarily occupied Kherson.

This ‘supervisor’ gave assignments to the spy network to collect intelligence and transmit it using anonymous accounts in Telegram.

During the searches at the suspect’s office and home, the SSU found evidence of unlawful activity.

The detainee will be served a notice of suspicion, while the court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint. Criminal proceeding was initiated by the SSU under Article 111.2 of the CCU.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing to bring to justice other members of the agent network.

The SSU Office in Mykolaiv Region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
