SSU neutralizes underground cells of ‘bolsheviks’ communist party’ in Ukraine

The SSU has prevented new attempts of russian intelligence to destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine.

As a result of a special operation in Kyiv and six other regions of Ukraine, the SSU dismantled underground cells of the so-called ‘communist party of the soviet union’.

This is a russian organization controlled by the FSB, which is actively involved in subversive activities against Ukraine.

After the full-scale invasion, the organizers of the association tried to create an extensive network of their own ‘regional committees’ in Ukraine.

Their ‘activists’ were supposed to call for mass support for the russian occupiers and set up ‘commandant’s offices’ to collect intelligence and prepare acts of sabotage.

They urged locals, including former and current military personnel who had started their service in the soviet union, to join their cells.

According to the investigation, the pro-kremlin organization is headed by Yuriy Shchipkov, the head of the ‘central bolsheviks’ committee’ in moscow.

It was on his instructions that underground ‘branches’ of the association were set up in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia and Chernihiv regions.

The enemy involved over 45 people in their functioning, using their own homes for secret meetings of the members and planning subversive activities.

They received instructions to carry out criminal activities directly from the head of the moscow ‘central committee’ through a specially created anonymous Telegram channel.

Thanks to the SSU’s prompt intervention, none of the enemy’s subversive plans were implemented.

During the searches of the suspects’ homes, the law enforcement found:

  • russian passports;
  • unregistered weapons and ammunition;
  • mobile phones with evidence of communication with a russian ‘supervisor’;
  • pro-kremlin propaganda material.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, one of the organizers of the association was notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 109 (distribution of materials with public calls for forceful seizure of state power);
  • 436 (public calls to unleash a military conflict).

The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU carried out the operation and investigation under the procedural supervision of Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
