Switzerland supports Ukraine’s sovereignty – Swiss Ambassador meeting with SSU Head

During a meeting with the SSU Head Ivan Bakanov, Ambassador of Switzerland Claude Wild expressed support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

‘Switzerland will continue to support Ukraine in countering the challenges that your country is facing, especially now,’ Claude Wild stressed.

In response, the SSU Head expressed appreciation for such support.

‘The security situation is complicated, however completely under control. Even though Russia and the so-called L/DNR use all means to achieve their subversive goals. Some of the methods of hybrid warfare are cyberattacks and sending bomb threats,’ Ivan Bakanov remarked.

The SSU Head informed that criminals also use private e-mail resources located in Switzerland, in particular ProtonMail.

‘We are thoroughly checking every bomb alert and, fortunately, they turn out to be false. Yet, such incidents distract the efforts of law enforcement from monitoring operational situation and from responding to other manifestations of Russia’s hybrid aggression,’ the Head of the Service commented.

In this connection, the SSU asked Swiss partners to identify individuals who used the anonymous e-mail service ProtonMail to commit a number of criminal offences.

‘We thank you for today’s meeting and emphasize that our position is clear: we support and will continue to support Ukraine. Switzerland remains a reliable partner and we hope for further fruitful cooperation between our countries,’ Ambassador Claude Wild concluded.
