SSU exposes Volyn company on supplying components for submarines to russia (audio)

The SSU has shut down another unlawful scheme of selling strategically important goods to russia.

A head of a company in Volyn oblast, which manufactures high-tech components for rotary mechanisms, is involved in the offence.

These components are used for manufacturing heavy equipment, including submarines.

It was these rare products that the suspects sold to the aggressor state.

To conceal the transactions, the company used an affiliated firm in a European country. The investigation established that head of this entity is also cooperating with the terrorist organizations ‘L/DNR’.

The foreign company purchased the products from the Ukrainian plant purportedly for its own needs, but then transferred them to end customers in russia.

According to the available data, since the full-scale invasion started, the dealers have illegally ‘exported’ almost 200,000 units of these critical products.

During the searches of the suspects’ production facilities and homes, the SSU found:

  • computer equipment, mobile phones and documents with evidence of the unlawful activity;
  • money obtained by criminal means.

The SSU initiated a criminal proceeding under Article 111-1.4 of the CCU (aiding the economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state). The investigation is underway.

The head of the Volyn manufacturer will be served a notice of suspicion.

The SSU Office in Volyn region is conducting the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
