Court sentences black gunsmith armorer exposed by SBU
According to the SBU, a criminal who sold weapons and ammunition to organized crime members in the grey market was sentenced to imprisonment. Law enforcement officers detained the criminal last May during a special operation in the Kirovohrad region.
The court sentenced the detainee to 4.2 years in prison.
It was established that the illegal activity was organized by a local resident, who was repeatedly convicted of committing serious and especially serious crimes, including murder. The repeated offender organized the sale of munitions in the region. He hid the goods for sale at his place of residence.
The offender searched for clients through personal connections among representatives of criminal circles.
During a search of the detainee's residence law enforcement found:
- 4 F-1 and RGD-5 grenades;
- Makarov pistol;
- Stalker revolver with ammunition;
- over 100 rounds of various calibers;
- 5 smoke grenades.
The court found the detainee’s guilty of illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
The sentence came into force.
Measures to expose the offense were carried out by officers of the SBU Office in Kirovohrad region together with investigators of the National Police and under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office.
