Court takes into custody head of “Crimean Transport Department” detained by SBU
At the Kalanchak checkpoint CI SBU officers detained a head of the so called Crimean Transport Department involved in prosecution of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of temporarily annexed peninsula.
Allegedly, the offender had personal affairs on the government-controlled territory. It was established that using his position he assisted illegal armed formations in unlawful actions against Ukrainians in Crimea.
During detention law enforcers seized documents with evidence of the perpetrator’s illegal activity.
The offender was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 111 (High treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Court decided to take him into custody as a preventive measure.
The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Directorate in Crimea (located in Kherson) under the procedural supervision of the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office.
