Khmelnytskyi city: SBU detains group of drug dealers
In Khmelnytskyi city, SBU blocked activities of the organized criminal group that manufactured and sold amphetamine.
Allegedly, eight local residents set up drug dealing, including those convicted of the same crimes. The offenders produced psychotropics in the underground drug laboratory. They constantly changed the location of the laboratory. In particular, every 2 months they transported the “goods” to a new place to cover their actions. Further, dealers mined the entrance of each laboratory. The offenders purchased raw materials for amphetamine production from Ukrainian suppliers. Moreover, they searched for clients among local drug addicts. Thus, the goods were delivered by couriers or via the caches. Every day, the attackers sold up to 30 doses of drugs. They earned over UAH 200,000 (USD 7,143) per month.
According to the investigation, SBU operatives documented 11 facts of the psychotropics sale.
Consequently, the group members were detained in different districts of Khmelnytskyi city on drug selling. During the searches at dealers’ residences and in the underground drug laboratory, law enforcement officers seized over 5 kg of amphetamine, 100 liters of precursors and cannabis, jewelry, money, mobile phones with drug trafficking data. The total cost of seized drugs, psychotropics and precursors is estimated up to UAH 3.5 million (USD 125,000).
Currently, the organizer and two group members are suspected of illegal manufacturing, purchasing, storing, transporting, shipping or drug selling of psychotropics or their analogues. The issue of serving to other involved persons a suspicion notice and choosing a type of detention is being decided.
Investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out jointly with investigators and employees of the National Police Department of Combating Drugtrafficking.
