Kropyvnytskyi City: SBU exposes corrupt dean of Flight Academy
In the city of Kropyvnytskyi, the SBU exposed a dean of a faculty of the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University on bribe-taking. For financial benefit, the offender provided cadets with access to flights.
Thus, according to the investigation, the dean set up a scheme for obtaining illegal benefit from senior students for admission to practical classes. He demanded money despite success and high rating of the future pilots. The cost of such “admission” for one cadet was USD 11,500.
The offender was detained at the workplace immediately after receiving the first part of the bribe – USD 5,000.
Currently, the issue of serving the offender a notice of suspicion of taking a bribe is being settled.
The investigation is ongoing. Other facts of the offender’s corruption activity and possible involvement of university management in the offense are being checked.
The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under supervision of Kirovohrad Region Prosecutor’s Office.
