Kyiv city: SBU detains official of private university on bribery and legalization of foreigners (video)

In Kyiv city, the SBU detained an official of a private university on taking bribe for entering the university and legalization of foreigners.

The SBU officers established that for two years the official systematically has demanded money from foreign students for entering the university. The amount of bribe started with UAH 5,000 (USD 175). The second type of “earnings” was the creation of an entry channel to Ukraine under the guise of foreign students from countries with a high migration risk. This cost of such “service” started with UAH 20,000 (USD 700). The SBU documented several facts of bribery by the official. 

The law enforcement officers detained the official near the university on taking another bribe in the amount of UAH 20,000 (USD 700).

Due to investigation results, the SBU is going to serve the official a notice of suspicions of illegal movement of persons across the state border of Ukraine and taking a bribe.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Pechersk Police Department of the Main National Police Directorate in Kyiv city and under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office no. 6.
