SSU: On night of full-scale invasion, Russia aimed to destroy all cyber defence of Ukraine (video)
The SSU is systematically counteracting to cyber-sabotage carried out by Russian occupiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 120 massive cyber-attacks on the resources of state authorities and military administration of Ukraine have been promptly detected and neutralized.
The largest number of them were carried out on the night of the invasion – that’s when the enemy wanted to destroy all of the cyber defence of Ukraine. However, effective work of the SSU and other cybersecurity agencies prevented the aggressor from using cyberspace to gain military advantage.
The SSU neutralized all occupiers’ attempts to paralyze strategically important Ukrainian electronic resources or to use them to disseminate propaganda.
The enemy’s attempts to hack IT systems of critical infrastructure facilities, communication operators and mass media of Ukraine were prevented.
Platforms have now been set up for 24/7 exchange of information between all institutions that may be targets of hostile attacks.
The SSU has launched a series of investigations to identify and prosecute the organizers and all participants of subversive activities and aggression against Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, hostile cyber sabotage was organized by Russian special services, including the FSB and Russian military intelligence. Responsible for direct execution are specialized ruscist hacker groups, in particular: APT28, APT29, Sandworm, BerserkBear, Gamaredon, Vermin, and others.
Currently, the SSU is working in an intensified round-the-clock mode. Our investigators are establishing the chain of criminals to bring them to justice.
