JFO area: SBU seizes explosives and ammunition from militants' caches

In 2020, in the JFO area the SBU seized more than 137 kg of TNT, plastid and artillery gunpowder, more than 40 firearms and almost 100,000 ammunition from the militants’ cache.

During special operations, the law enforcement officers detained members of three interregional organized groups engaged in the illegal sale of weapons, including representatives of criminal circles. 13 offenders received notices of suspicion of committing a crime. Two offenders were sentenced to different terms of imprisonment.

In Luhansk region, the SBU officers exposed three caches with weapons and ammunition set up by a subversive group of illegal armed formations. The law enforcement officers seized from the caches TNT, fuses, RGD and F-1 grenades, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a pistol and a large number of rounds.

The SBU established the involvement of saboteurs in the mining of bridges, as well as sections of railways and highways in Lysychansk and Popasna districts. Three malefactors received notices of suspicion of criminal offense committed by a group of persons, or a group of persons upon prior conspiracy, or an organized group, or a criminal organization; sabotage; creation of unlawful paramilitary or armed formations and unlawful handling of waepons, ammunition or explosives. The law enforcement officers arrested one offender. He is in custody. The SBU put other group members in a wanted list.

In the Donetsk region, from a cache set up in the private house of a resident of Bakhmut, a militant, the law enforcement officers seized a TM-62M anti-tank mine, a hand-held grenade launcher, 5 tubular grenades and 10 F-1 and RGD-5 grenade shells. The SBU officerfs found a MVCH-62 detonating fuze, nine hand grenade fuses and 600 rounds of 5.45 mm calibre.

According to intelligence, the offender took an active part in the hostilities against the ATO forces. He is fleeing from justice in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
