SBU finds cache of detained LNR militant (video)

In Kharkiv region, SBU Counterintelligence officers found a cache of weapons, including Russian-made RSHG-1 assault grenades, during investigative actions against a previously detained militant of the LNR terrorist organization.

In the course of the further investigation, the militant was discovered of notes with GPS coordinates pointing a place in a forest near Kharkiv. As a result, a cache of close packed Russian-made military means of destruction was found.

The seized inventory included:

  • 10 RSHG-1, RPG-22, RPG-6 grenades;
  • 2 anti-personnel MON-50 mines;
  • 30 F-1 and RGD-5 grenades;
  • 20 fuses to hand grenades;
  • almost 6 kg of plastic explosives;
  • 6 electric detonators;
  • 2 ignition tubes;
  • tens of meters of detonating cords and blasting fuses;
  • electrode wire and batteries;
  • more than 2,200 5.45 and 7.62 mm caliber rounds.

According to preliminary findings, the cache was equipped by members of IAFs to commit terrorist attacks in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

The investigation into unlawful handling of weapons is ongoing to identify all involved individuals.  

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
