In Odesa region, SBU CI officers detained a Ukrainian citizen serving in the so-called LNR Ministry of State Security (MDB) created and controlled by the Russian special services.

The SBU established that a native of Luhansk region voluntarily joined an IAF in the Russian-occupied territory of Luhansk region. Later, assisted by officers of pseudo-special services, he continued his terrorist activity serving in the so-called LNR MDB Border Guard Service. With a weapon in his hands, he performed the task of providing access to the checkpoint "Diakove" (temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region on the border with Russia), used for illegal supply of Russian military equipment and weapons to Ukraine.

Currently, the detainee informs SBU investigators on movement of military equipment and weapons from Russia to the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region, personal data of Russian handlers, including servicemen and special services’ officers, other important details of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The SBU verifies findings regarding the detainee's involvement in serious crimes committed in the temporarily occupied territory, in particular killings and tortures of Ukrainian military and civilians.

The offender received a suspicion notice and was detained on terrorism charges.
