SBU Academy presents military ID to first-year student and unveils memorial stele of deceased Hero
A memorial stele in honor of Colonel Yurii Voznyi was unveiled at the SBU National Academy on the eve of Defender of Ukraine Day. Yurii Voznyi’s wife, the SBU CI Department, the SUVD of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the SBU Academy congratulated the cadets on the special occasion and presented military ID cards to the first-year cadets. The first is named after Yurii Voznyi.
Rector Serhii Kudinov stressed that the SBU Academy is proud of the cadets who chose military service for the good of the Motherland.
“Many of you decided to continue the career path of your parents. For some, the war showed true Heroes who inspired to become a defender of Ukraine. Your course is named in honor of one of them, the Colonel Yurii Voznyi”, noted Kudinov.
The wife of the deceased CI officer Diana Vozna thanked the Academy staff for honoring the Heroes. She quoted the husband’s credo: “There is always a way out. The main thing is the desire to find it”.
In addition, First Deputy Head of the SUVD of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church archpriest Taras Melnyk blessed the cadets to serve the Motherland and called for to be responsible in choosing the career.
