Odesa city: SBU blocks activities of drug dealers group
In Odesa city, SBU exposed a group of drug dealers on selling illegal substances to customer across Ukraine via the Internet.
Allegedly, the group consisted of six local residents, who purchased narcotic substances from wholesale suppliers for further sale through personal website and closed groups in a popular messenger. The dealers delivered goods to customers by couriers and using a cache system. Money for psychotropics was transferred on their bank cards.
According to intelligence, the drug dealers sold amphetamine and ecstasy for over a million hryvnias (USD 35,715) monthly at black market prices.
During searches at the offenders’ residences, law enforcement officers seized computers and mobile phones with data on drug trafficking, bank cards and other evidence proving illegal activity. Additionally, the SBU found amphetamine, cannabis and ecstasy in the organizer’s premises, which were sent for further examination.
Currently, the organiser of the group was served a suspicion notice of drug trafficking; the custody was chosen as type of detention.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Odesa region Prosecutor’s Office.
