SBU detains another two members of “Lotu Guli” group involved in kidnapping in Odesa

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a special operation in Odesa to detain two more members of the interethnic organized group “Lotu Guli", which terrorized citizens and kept entrepreneurs in the region in fear.

It should be recalled that four gang organizers were "detained" by law enforcement officers in early July during an attempted kidnapping.

As a result of urgent investigative and operational actions, special service operatives identified two more active members of the group involved in the robbery and kidnapping of a private entrepreneur, which took place earlier.

Today, SBU operatives detained offenders in the private sector on the outskirts of Odesa.

Both detainees are incriminated committing a crime provided for by Part 2 Art. 187, Part 2 Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose custody without bail as a measure of restraint for offenders.

Operation was conducted jointly with the National Police investigators under the legal supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The interethnic organized group “Lotu Guli” is controlled by a well-known criminal lord who is hiding from Ukrainian justice abroad. According to intelligence, the gang consists of 10 persons with a criminal past. The group specializes in creating artificial conflicts, violence and extortion.
