Vasyl Maliuk presented awards to 47 officers of Special Operations Centre ‘A’ who defend Ukraine in hottest spots
The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk awarded 47 officers of the SSU’s Special Operations Centre ‘A’. All of them are defending the country in the hottest spots of the frontline.
The ceremony of presenting state and departmental awards was held today on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the ‘A’ Centre’s establishment.
‘The war has demonstrated that professionals like you are critically needed in Ukraine. I am grateful to each of you for your service! I can assure you that the government, all Ukrainians and I personally appreciate the important contribution of the ‘A’ special force to our future Victory,’ Vasyl Maliuk said.
The SSU Head emphasized that the awards received by the SSU’s special force are absolutely deserved. This is confirmed by the fact that since the start of the full-scale invasion 5 officers of the Centre have been awarded the Hero of Ukraine title, unfortunately, 4 of them - posthumously.
Today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree awarding the Hero of Ukraine to another two officers of the SSU’s ‘A’ Centre.
The ceremony honoured the memory of the Heroes who died performing combat missions.
‘The best of the best give their lives for Homeland. Such losses are very painful for the Service. This is the high price we pay for the freedom and future of Ukraine,’ the SSU Head added.
He thanked the officers for their courage and professionalism during unique special operations. ‘The Ukrainian people are proud of you. The enemy is afraid of you. And this is the best evaluation!’ the Head of the Service remarked.
Vasyl Maliuk wished the Special Operations Centre personnel strength and inspiration for our main purpose - liberation of Ukraine and a swift Victory!
