The SBU Military CI officers exposed a hidden Russian citizenship of a candidate for service in the National Guard battalion. The task force is regularly involved in combat actions of the Joint Forces operation area.

It was established that a resident of Kyiv, who until 2016 lived in temporarily annexed Crimea, initiated signing a military enlistment contract with the National Guard. At the same time, while submitting relevant documents, the candidate deliberately concealed information about his Russian passport.

According to the SBU military counterintelligence, in 2019 he received foreign citizenship in Crimea. The SBU verifies information on his possible involvement in a network of Russian special services.

The operation on prevention of crimes against the state security of Ukraine, in particular leak of sensitive military data, was conducted jointly with the command of the National Guard.
