SBU military counterintelligence officers exposed a former militant in Ukrainian troops in the area of ​​the Joint Forces operation.

The SBU found that in 2014, as an armed member of “DNR” IAF, he stayed at a checkpoint in Sloviansk, Donetsk region. He was inspecting and verifying documents of citizens and vehicles.

Later, the offender left militants and joined the Ukrainian army, having provided false data to a military enlistment office. He served in Donetsk region.

During the searches of the offender's residence, the law enforcement officers found and seized an unregistered traumatic pistol and pro-Russian insignia.

The offender received a suspicion notice for creation of unlawful armed formations.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police in Donetsk region under the supervision of the Sloviansk District Prosecutor’s Office.
