SBU exposes high treason by National Guard Commander (video)

The SBU exposed a commander of the National Guard division providing Russian special services with secret military data.

Allegedly, in 2019 the Ukrainian serviceman was recruited by the Russian General Staff of the Armed Forces. Following the assigned tasks, the agent collected intelligence on international military assistance to the National Guard units and the activity of foreign instructors. Russians were also interested in deployment of Ukrainian military facilities.

During the searches in offender’s office and residence, the SBU found evidence of illegal activity.  

The offender is served a notice of suspicion of committing high treason. Custody was chosen as a type of detention.

The special operation was conducted by the SBU Military CI Department jointly with the Main Investigative Directorate under legal supervision of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
