The SBU military counterintelligence exposed an illegal scheme organized by officials of one of the enterprises of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The suspects claimed that they were fighting against corruption in subordinate enterprises, but in fact, they caused state losses amounting to UAH 5 m. (USD 185,000)

The suspects were stealing state funds during the illegal use of Ministry of Defense assets.

Allegedly, the officials leased state property to commercial entities under sham contracts.

The SBU is currently conducting searches at the state enterprise in order to document the illegal activities.

The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police, under the supervision of the Solomianskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv city.
