The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk believes that the unity of Ukrainians is an important condition for the future Victory over the enemy. We must also cherish the glorious pages of our history and not give the enemy a single chance to rewrite it.

He said this in an interview for the ICTV channel during the United News telethon.

‘Today, the nation must unite. We must look at our glorious past. It’s all in our veins, in our DNA spiral. What is DNA? It’s like a flash drive with the entire history of each of our ancestors. We need to get a heroic story out of it, embrace it and engrave it in ourselves. We need to have our national self, and it works only when we are united!’ Vasyl Maliuk believes.

In his opinion, such unity should be shown by the entire Ukrainian people and the Defence Forces in general in the face of the enemy.

The SSU Head recalled many historical facts when russia used propaganda to divide or destroy our nation.

‘Rus was baptized in Kyiv in 988. What was happening in 988 there, in Moscovia? Frogs were croaking there! And the aggressor keeps trying to rewrite history. But we, Ukrainians, are glorious warriors, we are destined to success. I am sure of it, it will not be otherwise,’ Vasyl Maliuk remarked.

He noted that he will consider the achievement of peace on Ukraine’s terms, including the return of our territories and maximum destruction of the enemy, to be a Victory.

‘Frankly, I dream of Victory. And it’s not just a goal, it is a real mission. We must speed it up, achieve it and pass on a cloudless sky to our children as a legacy,’ the SSU Head summed up.
