The SSU has neutralized a sabotage and reconnaissance group that planned to assassinate the President of Ukraine and carry out sabotage acts in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine.

Our work to counter internal threats to state security of Ukraine is ongoing 24/7 and only in recent days the SSU carried out the following operations.

In Zhytomyr region:

The SSU neutralized the enemy’s agent network, which included 6 members. The collaborators expressed support for Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine and called on residents of the region to join the ruscists.

In addition, they justified missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian cities and killing of civilians, spread disinformation about the situation at the front, denied the occupiers’ crimes.

The attackers spread hostile propaganda in social networks and in communication with citizens.

In Kyiv:

Two residents of the capital were detained for extorting premium-class cars from the owner of a service station supposedly for the needs of Ukrainian military.

It was established that the attackers demanded from the entrepreneur the keys to the vehicles that belong to the customers of the station.

In case they refuse, the gangsters threatened the businessman with physical violence.

During the search, several automatic weapons with ammunition were seized from one of the attackers.

In Volyn region:

The SSU blocked illegal sale of a batch of bulletproof vests and helmets imported into the customs territory of Ukraine as humanitarian aid. The total cost of the goods is USD 18,000.

The organizer of the scheme, resident a territorial community of the region, has been detained.

In Cherkasy region:

The SSU Counterintelligence detained an informant of Russian invaders. He is a local resident who was recruited by Russian special services. Following their instructions, he collected data on the location of military and other strategically important facilities in the region.

The enemy agent also provided the occupiers with information on the movement of Ukrainian military equipment.

Upon all the facts of unlawful activity, investigative and operational measures are underway to identify and prosecute all those involved.
