SSU exposes over 30 officials and businessmen who tried to steal budget for digitalization in 2022 - Illia Vitiuk

The SSU has significantly strengthened counterintelligence support of Ukraine’s digitalization. The Chief of the SSU Cyber Security Department Illia Vitiuk spoke about this on air of the We-Ukraine TV channel.

‘This year we notified more than 30 persons of suspicion of attempts to undermine Ukraine’s cyber resilience. These individuals include deputy ministers, heads of central executive bodies, former MPs and dishonest businessmen,’ Illia Vitiuk informed.

The Chief of the SSU Cyber Security Department also stressed that in the process of protecting state information systems, the SSU exposed and dismantled many corruption and other criminal schemes that use digital tools.

‘For example, recently we neutralized a group that for money provided criminal ‘services’ of technical interference in state construction register for illicit registration of problematic real estate objects. All actions in the system were properly recorded, so we quickly stopped the crime and exposed the offenders,’ Illia Vitiuk briefed.

He noted that in the conditions of war, the SSU will continue to strengthen Ukraine’s cyber resilience and implement comprehensive measures to neutralize any threats to functioning of digital public administration systems.
