132 judgements were passed on criminals for trespass against territorial integrity of Ukraine

Since the beginning of 2020, courts passed 132 sentences on criminals detained by the SBU for trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. SBU investigations helped to sentence 29 criminals for terrorist activities.

In total, during this period, the SBU prevented 3 terrorist attacks and detained 10 suspects involved in its preparation. Among the detainees is an ISIS militant, who was on the international wanted list.

In April, the SBU CI conducted a special operation to expose the illegal activities of Major General Valerii Shaitanov, who is suspected of high treason, attempted terrorist act and unlawful handling of weapons. The SBU filed an indictment against him.

During this time, the SBU extradited 5 foreigners involved in terrorist activities. Among them is a citizen of a Central Asian country, who planned to organize in Ukraine   the transit of militants from different countries joining ISIS.

Another 405 foreigners involved in terrorism and international religious extremist groups are banned from entering Ukraine.

The SBU CI prematurely terminated powers of 5 foreign diplomats for activities contrary to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

74 sentences entered into force against criminals who were uncovered by the SBU CI for high treason, espionage, creation of a terrorist group or organization or participation in them. In particular, a saboteur who tried to blow up ammonia containers on the territory of Azot Severodonetsk Association was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.

In addition, the SBU blocked 8 transit channels  for human trafficking of illegal migrants to European countries.

Due to the SBU CI prevented the illegal export of dual-use and military goods worth almost UAH 1,5 b. (USD 52,816 m.). The SBU officers also prevented the supply of low-quality materials intended for equipment repair at the Kharkiv Armored Plant.
