FSB agent is sentenced to eight years in prison

Berdychiv City Court of Zhytomyr region sentenced a FSB agent to 8 years in prison. He was detained by the SBU CI in April 2021.

The convict admitted cooperation with the FSB and provided evidence confirming that Russian special services conducted intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine.

According to the pre-trial investigation, a 22-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region was recruited by the FSB and was collecting intelligence about regional military units.

Following the instructions of Russian curators, the man:

  • filmed the objects of the Special Operations Forces units in Zhytomyr region;
  • prepared detailed schemes of the territory of military units with locations of checkpoints, car parks, etc.

The FSB also ordered to establish personal information of the management and staff of the Special Operations Forces unit, in particular, location of residences, lifestyle, data on their personal vehicles, routes, etc.

After detention, the criminal was constantly in custody.
