The SSU Counterintelligence exposed the head of a mine of the SE ‘Volynvuhillia’ on financing the so-called ‘LNR’.

The SSU has established that one of the current heads of this mine closely cooperated with the IAFs in the past. In 2018, he was appointed to a senior position at one of the mines of Volynvuhillia.

Since then, the executive had been leading a double life: as a Ukrainian official and as a businessman of the so-called ‘LNR’. In particular, he set up a channel to sell food in ‘LNR’. As an entrepreneur registered in the terrorist-held territories, in 2018-2019 he paid almost UAH 100,000 (USD 3,800) of ‘taxes’ to the terrorists’ budget.

The SSU investigators in Volyn region have completed pre-trial investigation. The official of the state-owned enterprise is accused of financing actions committed with the purpose of changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine violating the procedure established by the Constitution.

The case file and the indictment have been sent to court.
