The SBU CI officers exposed and documented illegal activity of two terrorists, who participated in IAF of “DNR”.

In 2014-2015, the offenders voluntarily joined pro-Russian IAF, known as “Somali” and “Kolchuga”.

Currently, one of the perpetrators, a former Ukrainian law enforcement officer, holds the position of Deputy Chief of Staff of the so-called Ilovaisk Separate Mechanized Assault Battalion. Another one has a rank of “major” and serves as the commander of the radiation, chemical and bacteriological protection unit of “Kolchuga” and publicly carries out military recruitment to the IAF.

Both terrorists were served notices of suspicion of participation in a terrorist organization or IAF and assistance in its activities.

The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of Zhytomyr Region Prosecutor's Office.
