Following SSU investigation, head of occupation ‘russian post’ that operated during battle for Kharkiv sentenced to 11 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another collaborator who worked for the aggressor during the occupation of part of Kharkiv oblast has been convicted to prison.

After the town of Izium was seized, the woman became the head of the local occupation ‘russian post office’.

Immediately after the ‘appointment’, she began to enroll new ‘staff’ to the pseudo-institution.

Then the collaborator held a so-called ‘constituent assembly’ to call her subordinates to support the aggressor in the war against Ukraine and ensure uninterrupted postal communication with russia.

For such cooperation, the ‘post chief’ promised russian ‘salaries’ and support from the occupiers.

She also organized the ‘confiscation’ of all property of the local Ukrposhta branch (Ukrainian Post) and its hand-over to the occupation administration of the aggressor state.

According to the investigation, it was on her instructions that russian propaganda publications, e.g. newspaper ‘krasnaya zvezda’, were forcibly distributed to local population.

After Izium’s liberation, the collaborator tried to hide in the district.

However, the SSU tracked her down and detained her in February 2023.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court found her guilty under Articles 111-1.4, 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration) and sentenced her to 11 years in prison with confiscation of property and disqualification to hold positions in state and local government for 15 years.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Izium District Prosecutor’s Office.
