Following SSU’s investigation, traitor who ‘leaked’ information on National Guard’s training to russia sentenced to 12 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU’s Military Counterintelligence and investigators, another agent of the russian military intelligence has been convicted.

The enemy’s accomplice is a former platoon commander at one of the National Guard’s training centers.

The serviceman was recruited by an officer of the 316th intelligence center of the GRU [main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces], who introduced himself as Sergey Privalov.

The enemy asset was given an operational name ‘Richard’ and was instructed to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine.

The agent collected information on foreign military assistance to the National Guard, in particular, on combat training.

The SSU Military Counterintelligence documented the traitor’s criminal actions and detained him on an attempt to transmit secret information to the GRU.

After a lengthy investigation and a thorough examination of all the facts, the court found him guilty of high treason (Article 111.1 of the CCU) and sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
