Following SSU’s investigation, Azarov faces 12 years in prison for calling on russia to capture Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has completed a special pre-trial investigation against former prime minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, who publicly supports russia’s armed aggression.
The indictment has been sent to court.
The suspect is trying to evade justice by hiding abroad.
He actively cooperates with the russian intelligence services and, following their instructions, carries out information and subversive activities against Ukraine.
For this purpose, Azarov regularly appears on TV programs of Russian propagandists, including Solovyov and Skabeeva’s shows.
The traitor justifies russia’s full-scale invasion and denies the war crimes committed by ruscists against the civilian population of Ukraine.
He also publicly calls for seizure of state power in Ukraine and tries to artificially discredit the command of the Defence Forces.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators have notified Azarov of suspicion under three Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.6 (collaboration, organization and conducting of political events, information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state);
- 109.3 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power, committed upon prior conspiracy);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition of as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.
Azarov is hiding from prosecution. Therefore, comprehensive efforts are underway to bring him to justice for his crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
