Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences russian pilot who bombed Kharkiv TV tower to 12 years in prison (video)

The SSU has gathered irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another russian serviceman who participated in strikes on Ukrainian cities.

The criminal is the deputy commander of the military unit of the 6th air force and air defence army of the Western military district of the russian armed forces.

On March 6, 2022, he crossed the state border of Ukraine on a russian combat aircraft and bombed a radio and television station in Kharkiv.

The enemy used eight FAB-500 aircraft bombs with a total weight of 2.5 tons in TNT equivalent to carry out the air attack.

The aircraft was shot down by Ukrainian defenders immediately after the pilot dropped the bombs. After ejecting and landing, the pilot was detained.

Based on the evidence collected by SSU investigators, the court found him guilty under the Articles 28.2 and 438.1 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war).

The russian serviceman was sentenced to 12 years of in prison.

The SSU emphasizes: punishment for crimes against Ukraine is inevitable.

The SSU conducted the investigation under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
