Following SSU’s investigation, top official of occupation ‘ministry of economy’ of Crimea sentenced to 12 years behind bars

The SSU continues to prosecute traitors and collaborators who voluntarily defected to the enemy.

Following the SSU’s investigation, court convicted an official of the so-called ‘ministry of economic development of the republic of crimea’ to 12 years of imprisonment.

SSU operatives detained the criminal in April this year in Lviv oblast, derailing the woman’s plan to escape through the EU to belarus and then - to russia. After detention, she was notified of suspicion of treason and court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The investigation established that, holding a senior position in the ‘ministry of economic development’ of the so-called ‘government’ of the annexed Crimea in 2014-2021, this ‘official’ participated in the preparation of managerial decisions to subordinate Crimean economy to the aggressor state.

Based on the collected evidence, Halytskyi District Court of Lviv found the accused guilty of high treason (Article 111.1 of the CCU).

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for collaboration with occupiers.

The SSU Office in Lviv region carried out the investigation jointly with Lviv Border Guard Detachment under the procedural supervision of Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
