Following SSU’s investigation, collaborator from Kupiansk who planned to smuggle 700 tons of grain to russia sentenced to 13 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court has sentenced another collaborator, who cooperated with the aggressor during the occupation of part of Kharkiv region.

The convicted individual is a resident of Kupiansk, a former chief engineer of a local baking factory. After the city was captured, he supported the enemy and joined the occupation ‘police’.

Subsequently, local gauleiters offered the man to head the baking plant and organize massive ‘export’ of Ukrainian grain to russia.

While in this ‘position’, he moved several ‘test’ batches to russia and prepared almost 700 tons of Ukrainian wheat for shipment to the aggressor state.

However, the traitor did not manage to ‘export’ the grain - after Kharkiv region’s liberation, the SSU identified the collaborator’s location and detained him.

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111-1.7 (collaboration);
  • 111-2.1 (aiding the aggressor state).

The offender has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
