Following SSU’s investigation, 13 ‘LNR’ militants, who helped russian occupiers escape from Kharkiv region, sentenced to 13 years in prison
The SSU continues to bring to justice members of the aggressor’s occupation troops.
As a result of investigations, the SSU collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another 13 militants of the terrorist organization ‘LNR’, who fought against Ukraine.
The militants were captured during Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kharkiv region.
Based on the evidence presented by the SSU, the court sentenced them to 13 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplices are residents of Luhansk oblast who voluntarily joined the russian-controlled ‘LNR people’s militia’ on the eve of the full-scale invasion.
In this way, they ‘responded’ to the calls of the terrorist Pasichnyk for the so-called ‘general mobilization’.
Four of the militants are convicts who had previously served their sentences in local colonies for committing serious crimes.
After February 24, 2022, the ‘mobilized servicemen’ joined the occupation groupings of russia’s Southern military district and actively participated in warfare on the eastern front.
During Ukraine’s counteroffensive, the ‘LNR soldiers’ covered the escape of russian troops from Kharkiv region.
The court found the accused guilty under 3 Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1 (high treason);
- 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
- 260.2 (participation in unlawful armed groups).
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Lviv region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
