Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for preparing enemy attack on AFU staffs in Sumy region

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another FSB agent – a woman who spied on Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Sumy oblast – has been convicted to prison.

The traitor tried to identify and provide to the aggressor the positions of Ukrainian military staffs in the border region.

She also reconnoitered the locations of the AFU weapons and ammunition depots.

To gather intelligence, the asset walked around the area and covertly recorded the coordinates of Ukrainian defenders.

Using her data, the invaders planned to carry out a series of strikes on the Ukrainian military.

However, the SSU disrupted enemy plans and detained the suspect ‘red-handed’ in July 2023.

At that time, she was going to pass the collected intelligence to the FSB. During the detention, the SSU seized the mobile phone used by the perpetrator for communication with the russian service.

Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law) and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Sumy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
