Following SSU investigation, traitor who spied on Sloviansk defenders and called to kill Ukrainian PoWs sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an agent of russia’s GRU, who operated in Donetsk region, has been convicted to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator was spying on the defenders of Sloviansk and waited for complete capture of the oblast. She also called on the occupiers to brutally torture and kill Ukrainian prisoners of war.
The SSU Counterintelligence documented her crimes and detained her at her home in May this year.
The enemy’s accomplice is a 66-year-old local resident, an ideological supporter of ruscism, who was in contact with the russian military intelligence through her friend, a militant of the russian occupation troops.
According to the investigation, the agent passed to the enemy ‘liaison’ the locations of temporary bases and routes of Ukrainian units in Sloviansk sector.
To collect intelligence, the traitor walked around the frontline area and recorded military facilities. The woman also elicited information from her acquaintances during everyday conversations.
In her communication with the militant, she encouraged him to use violence and to kill Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
