Following SSU’s investigation, FSB agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for preparing missile strikes on airfields in Dnipropetrovsk region

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another FSB agent, who operated in Dnipropetrovsk region, has been convicted to prison.

The perpetrator was collecting information for the aggressor on the presence of Ukrainian military aircraft at local airfields.

He was also interested in railway routes used by military echelons of Ukraine’s Defence Forces to get to the frontline.

The occupiers planned to use the intelligence to prepare a series of missile strikes on strategic targets.

The SSU timely uncovered the spy and detained him ‘red-handed’ in July 2022.

At that time, the enemy agent was performing another FSB assignment - taking photos of the temporary bases of the AFU Territorial Defence units.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation revealed that the traitor was an employee of a local security firm. At the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, he was recruited remotely by an FSB officer.

The man came to the attention of the russian intelligence as an ideological supporter of ruscism.

After recruitment, the asset acted according to the ‘instructions’ - received coordinates of the ‘targets’ from the FSB and conducted additional reconnaissance on the ground.

Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
