Following SSU’s investigation, FSB agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for spying on Ukrainian military aircraft in Dnipropetrovsk region
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another FSB agent, who operated in Dnipropetrovsk region, has received a prison term.
The perpetrator recorded flight directions of Ukrainian combat aircraft and tried to identify their types and location of airfields.
The enemy agent also ‘hunted’ for locations of logistic routes used to supply weapons and ammunition to the frontline.
He set up an ‘observation post’ in his own apartment on the fifth floor to monitor the movement of the AFU’s military equipment.
For each completed assignment, the russian service paid the agent to his bank card.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the spy in May 2023.
After the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
The enemy agent is a 44-year-old resident of Synelnykove district, who was recruited remotely by an FSB officer in July 2022.
The man’s anti-Ukrainian posts on pro-kremlin Telegram channels brought him to the occupiers’ attention.
He maintained further communication with the russians through an anonymous chat in a popular messenger.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under the Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was conducted by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
