Following SSU’s investigation, militant commander sentenced to 15 years in prison for storming Ukrainian positions near Maryinka
Based on the SSU’s evidence, another traitor has been sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for joining russian occupation troops and fighting against Ukraine’s Defense Forces in Donetsk region.
The SSU Military Counterintelligence established that the perpetrator had been in charge of a detachment of militants who machine-gunned Ukrainian positions near Maryinka.
Ukrainian defenders took him prisoner during combat near Krasnohorivka.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was a resident of the temporarily occupied Maryinka and had voluntarily joined the occupation brigade ‘Oplot’ in May 2022.
There, he was appointed a rifleman and deployed to the eastern front.
The militant was subsequently transferred to the ‘Vostok’ grouping, which is part of the aggressor’s 1st army corps.
In the invaders’ unit, he was directly involved in repeated assaults on settlements near Maryinka and eventually became a commander of a militant unit in September 2023.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
