15 years of imprisonment to russia`s agent over preparing air strikes in Kyiv

Owing to the SSU's evidence base, a member of the FSB agent group, which was disrupted in September 2022, received a real prison term.

In Kyiv, the SSU cyber specialists successfully held a special operation to detain a russian agent and his accomplice who were preparing a series of air strikes on the capital.

Among the enemy's priority targets were possible locations of the Armed Forces and the National Guard in the city.

The occupiers were also looking for the technical condition of the capital's energy facilities, in particular thermal power plants, which the aggressor planned to use to launch missile or drone attacks.

The SSU timely exposed the russian agent and thus prevented a series of air strikes on Kyiv's military and critical infrastructure.

Based on the SSU materials, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with forfeiture of property.

According to the investigation, the convict is a 46-year-old Kyiv resident who was remotely recruited by an FSB officer in Rostov region in August 2022.

The russian agent involved his acquaintance, a 39-year-old resident of the capital, who was hiding under the pseudonym Narik, in subversive activities.

It was established that he was driving around the streets of the city and conducting covert photography and video recording of Ukrainian objects.

Narik transferred the received files to an enemy agent, who then reported to russian supervisor via messenger.

For cooperation with the occupiers, the traitor received a monetary reward on his own bank card.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found the offender guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

His accomplice was sentenced to 8 years in prison in October this year.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
