Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences enemy agent, who posed as instructor to spy on AFU, to 15 years behind bars
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another FSB agent, who operated in Mykolaiv region, has been convicted to imprisonment.
The perpetrator is a tactical training instructor of a local NGO. Under the pretext of training at training grounds, he reconnoitered locations of personnel, military equipment and ammunition depots of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained him ‘red-handed’ in February 2023.
During the search of the suspect’s apartment, firearms and ammunition were seized.
Following the Service’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
The enemy accomplice was in contact with pro-kremlin blogger Sergei Lebedev (known as ‘Lokhmatyi’), who is hiding in Donetsk and working for the FSB.
The informant contacted ‘Lokhmatyi’ on his own initiative via a messenger and offered his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
To gather intelligence, the asset organized tactical training for local residents at military training grounds.
He also tried to use Ukrainian defenders whom he met during field training to elicit more information.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 263.1 (possession of ammunition without a legal permit).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Mykolaiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
