Following SSU’s investigation, associate of liquidated Kiva sentenced to 15 years in prison for spying on air defence systems
Based on the SSU’s evidence, another enemy agent, who operated in Dnipropetrovsk region, has been convicted to imprisonment.
The perpetrator was close to the traitor Illia Kiva, eliminated at the end of 2023 in russia, where he was hiding from justice.
The sentenced offender also headed a civil association in Dnipro that was controlled by the banned opposition platform - for life party.
The agent remained in Dnipro after the start of the full-scale war to conduct sabotage against Ukraine.
According to the investigation, he tried to identify and pass on to the aggressor the locations of Ukrainian air defence systems near Dnipro.
The SSU detained the enemy accomplice during a special operation in the region in autumn 2022.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
The aggressor’s asset turned out to be a local resident, an ideological supporter of ruscism, who met the Kiva in 2014.
After 24 February 2022, the man switched to direct communication with his russian handler. Anonymous chats in a popular messenger were used for transmitting intelligence.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Dnipro Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
