Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for preparing missile attack on Mykolaiv CHP

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an enemy agent who was preparing a missile strike on the energy infrastructure of Mykolaiv oblast has been convicted to prison.

One of the aggressor’s main targets was a combined heat and power plant that provides heating to almost half of residential buildings and industrial enterprises of Mykolaiv.

To find out more about the geolocation and technological capacities of the CHP, the perpetrator took photos of the facility’s perimeter.

The SSU timely uncovered the agent, documented his reconnaissance activities and detained him in September 2022.

The investigation established that the enemy accomplice is a 74-year-old Mykolaiv resident, an ideological supporter of the kremlin, whom russian intelligence recruited remotely in the summer of 2022.

For his ‘work’ for russia, the man was promised money and ruscists’ support in case the region is captured.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the accused to 15 years in prison.

He was found guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
