Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an enemy agent who operated in Chernivtsi region has been convicted to imprisonment. He was preparing the aggressor’s missile attacks on oil depots in the western region and publicly praised the enemy.

The traitor is a 36-year-old resident of Bukovyna, who had been hiding at home from mobilization for 2 years and then remotely contacted the occupiers and offered his help.

He tried to pass to the invaders the coordinates of local depots with fuel and lubricants.

The investigation also documented that the perpetrator had regularly glorified russian occupation troops and justified russia’s war against Ukraine in the russian chat roulette. During one of the streams, he set fire to a Ukrainian flag to demonstrate his loyalty to the kremlin regime.

The SSU identified the man, documented his crimes and detained him in June 2024 at his home. This prevented a series of ruscist air attacks on critical infrastructure in the western region.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under the Articles of the CCU:

• 15.2, 111.2 (completed attempt to commit high treason under martial law);
• 436-2.1 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The person in question has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Chernivtsi Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
