Following SSU investigation, traitor who guided russian strikes with phosphorus munitions at Mykolaiv region sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another agent of russian intelligence, who operated in Mykolaiv region, has been convicted to prison.

The perpetrator adjusted the enemy’s strikes with phosphorus munitions, Grad multiple rocket launchers and Shahed kamikaze drones.

He provided the russians with coordinates of targets as well as his ‘recommendations’ for new or repeated strikes.

The SSU detained the traitor as a result of a special operation in Mykolaiv in May 2023.

A mobile phone was seized from the detainee, which he used to photograph potential targets and communicate with the aggressor.

After the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The convicted agent is a local resident who was mobilized to a military unit stationed in the region.

In late 2022, the russian intelligence recruited the man remotely for reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine.

Communication with the russian handler was carried out through an anonymous chat in a messenger app.

For his ‘work’ for the occupiers, the asset received funds to his crypto wallet.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found the enemy agent guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern Region.
