Following SSU’s investigation, ruscist militant who fought against AFU in Donetsk region faces 15 years in prison

The SSU has collected evidence on another traitor who joined russian occupation groupings and fought against Ukrainian defenders on southern and eastern fronts.

The SSU Military Counterintelligence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured him during Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Urozhayne village, Donetsk region.

The militant is a native of the temporarily occupied Makiivka, who joined the 113th rifle regiment of russia’s 1st army corps mobilization reserve before the full-scale invasion.

In the regiment, he received camouflage uniforms, automatic weapons and ammunition.

After russia launched its full-scale invasion, the traitor actively participated in warfare against the Ukrainian troops near Davydiv Brid, Sadok and Bilohirka in Kherson oblast.

He also carried out engineering and fortification works on russian firing positions near Nova Kakhovka.

On 24 January this year, the suspect’s unit was reorganized into the 116th separate rifle regiment of the russian armed forces.

With the new grouping of enemy troops, the militant was deployed to Donetsk region to deter Ukraine’s counteroffensive near Urozhayne.

SSU investigators have now served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 15 years in prison.

The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
