Following SSU’s investigation, ‘DNR’ militant who robbed houses in Kakhovka sentenced to 15 years in prison
The SSU has collected evidence against another member of the terrorist organization ‘DNR’, who fought for the aggressor state and committed crimes against residents of Kherson region.
Together with russian troops, in 2022 he participated in capturing Kakhovka and looting of local homes. During the robberies, the militant used weapons and threatened to kill in case of resistance.
The ruscists stole everything: from household appliances to money and other valuables.
The thief was captured by Ukrainian defenders in December 2022 during combat on Kherson direction.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the militant was a resident of Donetsk and with the beginning of the full-scale invasion joined the ranks of the 9th marine regiment of russia’s 1st army corps.
As a senior rifleman of the enemy unit, he fired at the positions of the Defence Forces on the eastern front.
Later, he was deployed to the temporarily occupied part of Kherson oblast.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under three Articles of the CCU:
- 438.1 (violation of laws and customs of war);
- 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
- 260.5 (participation in activities of unlawful armed groups).
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
