Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences spotter who adjusted russian strikes on Odesa region to 15 years in prison
The SSU has collected evidence on another russian agent who provided information on Odesa region’s defence to the aggressor.
He was in direct contact with a russian military serviceman and a well-known belarusian propagandist Ksenia Lebedeva, who is linked to russian intelligence services and publicly spreads fakes about the war in Ukraine.
The enemy informant passed data on locations of the Defence Forces and strategic infrastructure facilities in Ukraine’s south to the enemy.
The aggressor was particularly interested in coordinates of defence fortifications and key roads.
He also sent ‘reports’ to the occupiers on the consequences of their air attacks, for example after russian strikes on transport communications in the area.
The SSU detained the agent during counter-sabotage operations in Odesa last September.
Based on the results of the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU) and sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
