Following SSU’s investigation, enemy saboteur who tried to destroy AFU strongholds in Zaporizhzhia oblast sentenced to 15 years in prison

The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence of guilt of another member of the ‘DNR’ terrorist organization, who fought against Ukraine.

The individual voluntarily joined the occupation groups of the 1st army corps of the Southern military district of russia at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

As a member of a reconnaissance group of the enemy troops, the man took an active part in warfare against the Defence Forces on Zaporizhzhia direction.

In July this year, his sabotage and reconnaissance group was tasked to conduct an attack on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line and destroy Ukrainian strongholds.

However, during the raid the enemy group was spotted and eliminated, and the militant himself was captured.

Following the SSU’s investigation, court sentenced him to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the offender is a resident of Donetsk region, who after February 24 this year joined the ‘1st separate guards motorized rifle Sloviansk brigade’ of the ‘DNR people’s militia’ created by russia.

There he was appointed a rifleman and later was transferred to a reconnaissance group.

Based on the collected evidence, court found the militant guilty under the Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The SSU warns: punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security is inevitable.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
